Thinking Outside the Box…

Trite?… Cliché?

I know that the term is overused and I’m probably as guilty as anyone.  Here are a couple of different ways to look at the term…

1. A poem written by A. R. Ammons in 1965:

Don’t establish the
boundaries
first
the squares, triangles,
boxes
of preconceived
possibility,
and then
pour
life into them, trimming
off left-over edges,
ending potential:
let centers
proliferate
from
self-justifying motions!

2.

“Bansky” is a British graffiti artist who produces some “out side the box” art work/graffiti.  Below is one of his London murals:

In his book he shares his mantra…   “Think from outside the box, collapse the box and take a *&%# sharp knife to it.”

If you go to his website you can see more of his work … click here.

One Response to Thinking Outside the Box…

  1. Jarrod Bell says:

I’ve been saying for a while we should fold up the box and recycle it. I do appreciate Bansky’s take on that too.
